The seven questions on the homepage are the ones people ask most. These are all of them, answered at more length than a homepage accordion allows — including the awkward ones about what happens when a payment fails and what the membership really costs.
If your question is not here, email [email protected] and we will answer it and probably add it to this page.

Borrowing and amounts
How much can I borrow from FrontPay?
Between $200 and $5,000, in $50 steps, spread across four products. FrontPay Advance covers $200 to $500, Flex covers $300 to $1,500, the Credit Line runs $500 to $2,500 and the Installment Loan runs $1,500 to $5,000. One application shows you every product you qualify for at once rather than making you pick in advance.
First-time borrowers are usually approved toward the lower end of a range, because we have no repayment history with you yet. That moves as you build one. Full worked examples for each amount are on the loan amounts page.
Can I borrow without paying a membership fee?
Yes. Three of the four products have no subscription at all. Flex, the Installment Loan and the Credit Line charge simple interest on the balance instead, and once that balance reaches zero nothing recurs on your card.
The $14.99 membership applies only to FrontPay Advance, and in exchange that product carries 0% interest. It is the cheaper route for small, short borrowing and the more expensive one if a balance stays open for months.
Which is cheaper, the membership or paying interest?
For small amounts cleared quickly, the membership wins comfortably. Borrowing $500 costs $14.99 on the membership against roughly $157 in interest over three months on a pay-as-you-go loan.
It stops winning in two situations: when the balance stays open across several months, because $14.99 is charged again each time, and when you need more than $500, where the membership is not available at all. There is a full breakdown on cash advance vs payday loan, including what the membership works out to as an APR — which is the fair way to compare it.
Can I hold more than one product at a time?
One FrontPay Advance at a time, and it has to be repaid before another is issued. If your repayment is still processing, allow three business days for it to clear before requesting again.
A Credit Line can sit open alongside an Installment Loan if your income supports both payments. We will not approve a combination that our own affordability check says you cannot carry.
Eligibility and income
Do I need direct deposit to qualify?
For an Advance, yes. We need to see recurring electronic deposits of at least $400 that have arrived at least three times in the account you link. That pattern is what the repayment date gets attached to.
Loans and credit lines use a broader test of $1,200 a month in verifiable deposits. Cash deposits, paper cheques and money paid in at an ATM cannot be verified as recurring income and will not support an application on their own.
Do you accept Social Security, SSI or VA benefits as income?
Yes, and on exactly the same terms as wages. Social Security retirement, SSDI, SSI, VA disability and pension, railroad retirement, state unemployment and most public pensions all count. No job or employer is required.
The one practical obstacle is that benefits paid onto a Direct Express card usually cannot be linked, because it is a prepaid card rather than a checking account. Our guide to borrowing on benefit income covers that, the payment calendars, and what SSI recipients should know about the resource limit before borrowing.
Is FrontPay legit and safe to use?
FrontPay Cash, LLC is a consumer lender based in Midvale, Utah, operating since 2022, with a published address and support email on this site. We follow federal Truth-in-Lending rules, which means your APR, finance charge, amount financed and total of payments are disclosed before you sign anything.
Your bank connection is read-only and encrypted; we can read deposit history to verify income but cannot move money except for payments you authorise, and your banking password is never shown to us or stored. If you want independent guidance on any lender, the CFPB is the place to start.
Is FrontPay available in every state?
No. Product availability, maximum amounts, rates and fees vary by state, and some products are not offered in some states at all. When you enter your address the application shows only what is available and lawful where you live.
You must also be at least 18, or 19 in Alabama and Nebraska, hold a Social Security number or ITIN, and have a checking account open at least 60 days.
Costs, fees and credit
Can I get a cash advance with no credit check and bad credit?
For an Advance of $200 to $500, there is no credit check of any kind — approval rests entirely on your deposit history. There is no minimum score on any product, and a thin file or a past charge-off does not rule you out on its own.
Larger products use a soft inquiry to produce your rate, which is invisible to other lenders and has no effect on your score. Only the Installment Loan involves a hard pull, and only at the point you accept it. More detail on loans with no credit check.
Do you run a credit check?
It depends on the product. Advance: none at all. Flex and Credit Line: a soft inquiry only. Installment Loan: a soft inquiry to quote you, then a hard inquiry when you accept, which can temporarily cost you a few points.
You are always told before a hard pull happens, and simply looking at an offer never triggers one. If you decline every offer, nothing is recorded that another lender can see.
Does borrowing here help or hurt my credit?
Installment Loans and Credit Lines report payment history to the major bureaus, so paying on time can build a file and missing payments can damage one. If credit building is your goal, those are the products to ask about.
Advances are not reported in either direction — not the borrowing, not the repayment, and not a missed payment. That is a protection rather than a benefit: it means an Advance cannot help your score either.
Are there any hidden fees?
No, and the full schedule is published on the homepage. There is no application fee, no prepayment penalty, no returned-payment fee and no fee for changing a payment date. Express delivery is $3.99 and entirely optional; if the transfer cannot go instantly it reverts to standard and the fee is not charged.
The charges that do exist: the $14.99 monthly membership on Advance, an origination fee of 0% to 5% on Installment Loans, and a late charge of the lesser of $15 or 5% on Installment Loans and Credit Lines where state law permits it. Nothing is added after you sign.
How do I cancel my membership?
One click on your account page, or an email to support. It takes effect immediately and there is no notice period or cancellation fee.
Cancelling does not close your account and does not erase a balance — anything outstanding stays repayable on its existing schedule. If you took a single Advance and do not plan to take another, cancel as soon as you have repaid, otherwise $14.99 keeps renewing for a service you are not using.
Repayment and speed
How quickly can I get money today?
On an Advance, Flex loan or credit line draw accepted before 2:00 PM ET with express delivery, roughly 30 minutes — so under an hour from starting the application is realistic. Standard delivery is free and lands the same business day.
Installment loans always take one to two business days because they involve a fuller verification step, and no express option shortens that. Weekends and federal holidays pause standard transfers entirely. See same-day funding for why your own bank has the final say.
Can I pay off early?
Always, and there is never a penalty. On interest-bearing products you pay only the interest accrued up to the day you settle, so clearing a loan three months early genuinely removes three months of interest rather than just rearranging the schedule.
What happens if I miss a payment?
Tell us before the due date and we will move it, at no cost. That is by far the best outcome and it is not a favour — a moved date costs us nothing, a failed payment costs us both something.
If a payment does fail: we charge no returned-payment fee, though your own bank may. There is no late fee on an Advance or a Flex loan, and a missed Advance is never sold to a collector or reported to a credit bureau. On an Installment Loan or Credit Line a late charge may apply where permitted and the missed payment is reported to the bureaus.
When exactly is my payment taken?
For an Advance, it is timed to your next deposit — we can see when that usually arrives, so it is not a guess. For Flex, Installment and Credit Line products it falls on the same date each month, and you choose that date when you accept the offer.
You can move the date later from your account page. You can also revoke the automatic payment authorisation entirely with three business days' notice, which does not cancel the debt but does mean you arrange payment another way.
Account and company
Do you have a mobile app?
No, and you do not need one. The whole thing runs in your phone's browser at frontpaycashapp.com — application, offers, account and cancellation.
One thing worth knowing: an unrelated app with a similar name exists in the app stores. It is a payment service from another country and it has nothing to do with us. If you download it expecting to find your FrontPay account, you will not.
What happens to my data?
Your bank connection is read-only and encrypted with 256-bit TLS. We read deposit history to verify income and we cannot initiate any transfer other than the payments you have authorised. Your banking credentials are never shown to us and never stored on our systems.
You can disconnect the bank link from your account page at any time. The full detail is in the privacy policy.
